Leather care & cleaning for the car with Swissvax
For Nappa, open-pore, finished, vegan leather, and Alcantara
Your leather interior is one of the most personal features of your vehicle – and one of the most heavily used. Daily use, UV radiation, body oils, and dye transfer from clothing wear down even the finest leather over time. Without proper care, leather dries out, cracks, and loses its color and suppleness.
Swissvax offers a complete leather care system for all interior materials: from smooth Nappa and open-pore leather to finished surfaces, vegan leather, and Alcantara. All formulations are pH-neutral, silicone-free, and leave no residue.
The result: an interior that stays soft, supple, and protected – whether your vehicle is driven daily or reserved for special occasions.
New smooth leather
How to properly clean new smooth leather
Modern automotive leathers are factory-coated and therefore more resistant to scratches and stains. Easy to care for, however, does not mean care-free – soiling also occurs on modern surfaces.
1. Clean smooth leather surfaces with Leather Cleaner and the cleaning brush. For perforated surfaces (ventilated seats), use the cube sponge applicator to avoid pushing liquid into the perforations.
2. Remove foam and loosened dirt with the Detail Towel or Micro-Wash. Repeat until the towel stays clean.
3. Work in small sections so the cleaning liquid does not dry out.
Do not use on: buffalo or suede leather. Do not treat aniline leather (open-pore leather) with Leather Cleaner Forte and/or a brush.
Open-pore or finished leather? Apply a drop of water to a hidden spot and spread it lightly. If the water absorbs, it is open-pore leather.
Sealing with Leather Glaze
New leather does not yet need a conditioning milk – it is sufficiently nourished by the tanning process. However, it should be protected from the start with Leather Glaze against abrasion and dye transfer from jeans and other clothing.
Leather Glaze is colorless, matte, and applied with a fine-pore sponge in circular motions from seam to seam.
Care for new nappa leather
Used Nappa leather
Used smooth leather – whether in new cars or youngtimers and classics – needs nourishment and care in addition to cleaning.
1. Clean with Leather Cleaner and the cleaning brush (for perforated leather: cube sponge applicator).
2. Remove foam and dirt with Detail Towel or Micro-Wash.
3. Work in small sections so the liquid does not dry out.
4. Once fully dry, apply Leather Milk with the cotton applicator. Use sparingly and let it absorb. Repeat if the feel is still dry.
5. Optional: Treat with Leather Wax as a final impregnation – the pure synthetic fat penetrates deep into the leather, keeps it supple, and builds a water-repellent protective layer against moisture and mold. Especially suitable for heavily used leather and convertible interiors.
Do not use on: buffalo or suede leather. Do not treat aniline leather with Leather Cleaner Forte and/or a brush.

Leather Healer Leather Tint
Seat bolsters, steering wheels, shift knobs, and armrests show color abrasion and scratches over time. Leather Healer compensates for these traces of use – apply with a fine sponge in circular motions from seam to seam. Dries in minutes and does not rub off.
Leather Gloss Corrector matt or shiny
Heavily used leather surfaces such as the steering wheel, armrests, and shift knob begin to shine over time. Gloss Corrector Matt restores the more matte original appearance. Multiple passes increase the effect.
For youngtimers and classics with originally glossy leather upholstery: Gloss Corrector Shiny matches overly matte spots to the gloss level of the surrounding upholstery.
Leather Softener
Lack of care and heat are the main causes of hardened leather. Leather Softener restores oils and minerals to the leather that have been removed by sun and air.
Apply with the cube sponge applicator and let it absorb. Repeat the treatment several times if needed, so the liquid gradually penetrates deeper layers of the leather.

Vegan leather
Vegan leather increasingly looks and feels like real leather but has different material properties. Conventional leather cleaners can attack the synthetic surface.
1. Clean with the Vegan Leather Cleaner – gentle, effective, and solvent-free.
2. Additionally seal light-colored vegan leather with Leather Glaze against dye transfer from jeans and clothing.

Alcantara
Alcantara combines the feel of suede leather with high durability but needs special care. Conventional textile cleaners can damage the sensitive microfiber structure.
Cleaning: Vacuum the surface, spray Alcanta Cleaner onto a sponge applicator or directly onto the surface. Clean with light tapping pressure. Dry by tapping with Micro-Wash. Never rub! Never clean with heat.
Pilling: The typical pilling in wear areas can be removed with the leather sanding pad, as long as pilling has not become too severe.
Sealing: After cleaning and drying, seal with Lotos Protectant – for long-lasting protection against new soiling.
